On June 24, 2018, between approximately 3 and 4 in the afternoon, hooded paramilitaries who were mobilizing aboard a Hilux van, as part of the so-called “Operation Cleaning”, carried out a “hunt”, looking house by house, to the young people who, according to their information, participated in the roadblocks. In this context, they fired shots at the victim Eduardo José Trujillo Vanegas and his brothers, who at that time were traveling in the direction of the Gaspar García Laviana School 7 blocks down Tipitapa, Managua, they were going to their mother Elvia’s Vanegas house. They were returning from supporting the barricade set up by people who had self-convened at the entrance to the Yolanda Mayorga Hospital in Tipitapa.
