Carlos Manuel López

López was shot by a bullet, which perforated his two lungs. He was helped by the protesters, who took him to the home of a doctor, who indicated he needed to be transferred to a hospital for surgery. However, he died on the way.

Around 9:30 at night on April 21, 2018, Carlos Manuel López was returning from buying food in the Fátima neighborhood of Masaya, accompanied by his wife, when police forces and other anti-riot groups attacked some parts of the city, with the goal of dismantling barricades that had been put up by protesters. The protesters responded to the attack by throwing rocks and shooting homemade mortars.
